i wanted to go into toshi station to pick up some power converters

that's what went thru my head yesterday as i drove to our wellesley office. they have been crying about how they can't get their email and everything is bad and they hate computers and they hate us and so on.

well, maybe not the 'they hate us' bit, but there is certainly very little love for PCs over there. and they only have 4 of them. 4 of the newest PCs in the agency. hell, newer than my fancy little laptop (a Fujitsu Lifebook T Series 3010 if you are interested). but i was able to figure out the problem (and verified my conclusion this morning) that it was our VeePeeN software and interacting with the router here which was rejecting multiple connections from a single IP addy (in this case, the DSL). it's a non-issue for me when i'm at home as i only use this laptop to connect, but then i'm not using more than 1 PC while at home.

so, there i am in wellesley, trying to figure out what is going on, trying to call Verizon to verify that the DSL is ok (that was 10 mins of being on hold i could have used to walk to Dunkin' and back) and then troubleshoot things.

so after figuring out the problem, i headed back, and the only real consolation of going there was that i drove back with my windows open as yesterday was a very nice day. can't say that about today, as it's rainy and shitty. but yesterday qualified as a "nice day". at least i got to enjoy a piece of it.

well, i'm heading home momentarily so i'll continue this later.

the Lost recap show was BORING. fortunately, we get 4 more and they are all new, no repeats. we'll see about this shocking thing that dares us not to watch next season.

work has been busy, had someone in to do some testing on our network for HIPPA and security reasons. still have to get laptops ready for tuesday.

had a meeting with the TrainWreck to go over the update in june. basically, it's going to run the same way the last one did, only we may have to start a little earlier than we did last time. apparently the weekend clinicians whined about going out on paper. something about having to do work.

i have two words for them.

BITE ME.

i was talking with Mr. TK-8103 the other day and we were marveling at how a clinician would bill visits with patients in the following fashion:

Patient 1: 10:00 - 10:35
Patient 2: 10:40 - 11:00
Patient 3: 11:00 - 12:00

Patient 2 happens to live on the other side of Boston from Patient 1, and Patient 3 lives between 1 & 2.

are we to believe that it took them 5 minutes to get from Beacon Hill to Kenmore? and then from Kenmore to Back Bay in 0 minutes (and find parking too)

new Family Guy on sunday. at long last...and what is even cooler is fox reportedly ordered 40+ episodes, so we'll be getting 2 full seasons of Family Guy rather than just 1 season and play the wait and see game.

vaca was good. i'm not sure why the time seemed to fly by for M & i, yet for people at work it seemed to drag. well, i know why. perception seems to play a big roll in it.
