the end of april....

well, another week of work has passed. it was still nuts and i was working up until i left in the afternoon, which by that point was technically this evening, but who's counting?

the good news of friday was i figured i had to get 2 laptops ready for monday, but after a fair amount of confusion by everyone (including the non-ellusive TrainWreck), it was decided not to deploy any laptops on monday. it's only 2, but it was 2 more than i DIDN'T have to get ready. hell, i still have to get a bunch ready for tuesday, so i'm still behind, but at least the 2 i thought i would have to deploy, can be rolled into tuesday.

picked up my lunch for the next month or so from stop and shop. i like when they put my lean cuisine's on sale at 50% off. i even went thru my freezer and figured out how many i could buy before i ran out of space in my freezer. it may cost me a small bundle now, but i'd rather pay what i did this evening as it wouldn't pay for my lunch for the next 2 weeks if i bought my lunch on a daily basis. plus it seems to be a bit cheaper than my buying sandwich stuff.

i have darth tater. he's currenting sitting on my tv, but i'll prolly bring him into the office to be envied by all.

or at least by those who don't have one yet and want one. hopefully he won't be stolen. we seem to have this problem of people stealing food in the office. CD left a bag of M&M's, mostly hidden under the paper tray of his printer, only to come into the office monday morning and find that someone had eaten all of them and then placed the empty wrapper back where it had been when they stole them the first time. unfortunately, this isn't the first time. KG used to have sodas and his hot pockets stolen on a semi-regular basis. for a while, if he went a week w/o something being stolen from the fridge, we would be shocked. fortunately, he hasn't had anything stolen from him in a little while.

well, lesse. this afternoon M&i saw Robots. it was fun, and i enjoyed it. lots of little kids in the theater who for the most part were behaved. i won't say well behaved, but behaved. the only one that was driving us nuts was sitting in the same row as us and would for no real reason just start clapping her hands. but it was fun. predictable, but fun and there were a few moments that were really funny.

truth be told, robots passing gas = funny

afterwards, we headed back and had some turkey cabbage soup. M was poking me about how i was being so precise with the recipe, plus making sure that we had everything ready rather than cut and cook and then cook. she likes to experiment and toss stuff together, but i'm a bit more by the book when it comes to cooking. i did however add some ham (which she said added a little smokey depth, and salt) and a 2nd clove of garlic, so i didn't follow it to the letter. plus i don't have any spanish onions.

but it was quite tasty. plus it will help me deal with my vaca gluttony. i have a big pot of it, so i'll be eating it for most of the week which is fine with me. i like it. quite filling.

tomorrow, bright and early (and i do mean bright and EARLY) i'm going to do the 'Project Bread Walk For Hunger'. i haven't done it before, but M&F have and they "talked" me into doing it. so i am. it's a 20 mile walk around boston/newton/watertown/memorial drive which should be fun. we're hoping that the rain that is currently falling really does get out of here by the time we start, but i guess we'll have to wait and see. i even managed to get some of my friends at work to pledge money for it so i don't feel so bad. i've even talked mom into pledging. i do need to get some pictures out to her which will up her pledge amount...

oh, driving back from the movie, i saw a few vanity plates (IZZY and ROADS) which reminded me of the ME Junket - while we were there, i swear, i saw more vanity plates in ME than i have in any state i've visited before. i guess my looking around, and being in ME kicked in my looking for license plates (it was a game we used to play when we'd go up to visit the grandparents, freeport was a boon for plates for obvious reasons). i know there are lots of vanity plates in other states, and i'm sure ME isn't the leader in vanity plates, but it just seemed like everywhere i looked, i saw a vanity plate. sure i saw other states (NH, MA) but it seemed like i just needed to turn my head and there was another ME vanity plate. maybe the next time i'm up there, i'll start keeping a tally of how many i see.

well, i'll post this and write more later. i need to wind things down if i'm going to try and be in bed early tonight.

but uncle owen....

i wanted to go into toshi station to pick up some power converters

that's what went thru my head yesterday as i drove to our wellesley office. they have been crying about how they can't get their email and everything is bad and they hate computers and they hate us and so on.

well, maybe not the 'they hate us' bit, but there is certainly very little love for PCs over there. and they only have 4 of them. 4 of the newest PCs in the agency. hell, newer than my fancy little laptop (a Fujitsu Lifebook T Series 3010 if you are interested). but i was able to figure out the problem (and verified my conclusion this morning) that it was our VeePeeN software and interacting with the router here which was rejecting multiple connections from a single IP addy (in this case, the DSL). it's a non-issue for me when i'm at home as i only use this laptop to connect, but then i'm not using more than 1 PC while at home.

so, there i am in wellesley, trying to figure out what is going on, trying to call Verizon to verify that the DSL is ok (that was 10 mins of being on hold i could have used to walk to Dunkin' and back) and then troubleshoot things.

so after figuring out the problem, i headed back, and the only real consolation of going there was that i drove back with my windows open as yesterday was a very nice day. can't say that about today, as it's rainy and shitty. but yesterday qualified as a "nice day". at least i got to enjoy a piece of it.

well, i'm heading home momentarily so i'll continue this later.

lesse, where was i? eh, who cares.

the Lost recap show was BORING. fortunately, we get 4 more and they are all new, no repeats. we'll see about this shocking thing that dares us not to watch next season.

work has been busy, had someone in to do some testing on our network for HIPPA and security reasons. still have to get laptops ready for tuesday.

had a meeting with the TrainWreck to go over the update in june. basically, it's going to run the same way the last one did, only we may have to start a little earlier than we did last time. apparently the weekend clinicians whined about going out on paper. something about having to do work.

i have two words for them.

BITE ME.

i was talking with Mr. TK-8103 the other day and we were marveling at how a clinician would bill visits with patients in the following fashion:

Patient 1: 10:00 - 10:35
Patient 2: 10:40 - 11:00
Patient 3: 11:00 - 12:00

Patient 2 happens to live on the other side of Boston from Patient 1, and Patient 3 lives between 1 & 2.

are we to believe that it took them 5 minutes to get from Beacon Hill to Kenmore? and then from Kenmore to Back Bay in 0 minutes (and find parking too)

hmmm...

merino wool is soft.

new Family Guy on sunday. at long last...and what is even cooler is fox reportedly ordered 40+ episodes, so we'll be getting 2 full seasons of Family Guy rather than just 1 season and play the wait and see game.

vaca was good. i'm not sure why the time seemed to fly by for M & i, yet for people at work it seemed to drag. well, i know why. perception seems to play a big roll in it.

what a pain

getting ready for vacation can be a pain in the ass. this morning i put together a list of things i needed to make sure i did to be ready to go on vaca, because it always seems as tho when i go on vaca, that something goes wrong. especially when it comes to the laptops. so we'll see what happens.

anyways, this morning was frustrating because my mood is less than cheery. what doesn't help is i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve so pretty much anyone can read my face and know how i'm feeling. in that regard, i suppose i would be a really shitty poker player. but on the other side of the coin, when people can't read my expression, is usually when they don't want to know because i'm on the verge of tearing their throat out. so i suppose being able to read me is a good thing. so when i got in, CH was getting back and told me to smile. i didn't, but when he stopped by my cube a little while later, i was feeling better (that and i am trying to keep my work face on rather than my personal face) so we had a bit of a laugh.

but when i got in, i came in thru the back door (something i usually don't do) and AP spots me, but she was wise enuff to give me a little time to get settled, take my coat off, etc. (she heads up the EDU dept. and at long last, they have their own laptop and projector.) that was nice, esp as most of the clinicians i have to deal with would just start their yapping dog impression and i would have to pretend to care what they were saying. then to top that off, TK-8103 came over to ask a question about USB and keyboard (which reminds me i need to meander over) and our conversation shifted into wav files, and all the while AP waited patiently for us to finish our conversation. so AP gets 2 points. and i'll even give her another point for wanting to have me show the EDU dept. how to use their new stuff, but not next week, but the day i get back from vaca. so, at 11am on the 25th, i'll show them how to use the projector and laptop and i've got a little time to get settled. it's a good thing i'll be checking my mail from time to time.

and now i have a headache. rather two pronged one at that. one on the right side of my forehead, just above my temple, and the other on the left side of my forehead, more on my hairline. both of which are a stabbing pain.

so now i get to try and remember to do everything i need to before 6pm. and it's a pretty long list...

i don't know

every once in a while, there is a word or phrase that just rubs you the wrong way. normally when you hear it, it doesn't matter much. then there is that one time where it rubs you the wrong way and you don't know how to react or what to think.

today, that phrase is:

i don't know.

it can be a simple answer to a simple question.

or it can be a complicated answer to a complicated question.

i don't know.

do you want to do dinner tomorrow night?

i don't know.

what were last night's lottery numbers?

i don't know.

what are you doing on your vacation?

i don't know.

what do you want to watch on tv?

i don't know.

what's wrong?

i don't know.

are we ever going to __________ ?

i don't know.

that was unexpected

this morning i decided that i'd do my monthly 'wear a tie to work just because' thing (that's what it seems to be averaging currently) and all i have gotten from people today are cracks about going on a job interview.

i hadn't really thought about it in that way, but i guess our dress code here in the office is a bit more lax than i give it credit for. when i was hired, i was told by my boss that it was business casual, try to avoid wearing jeans, nice shirt etc. (friday is casual, so i usually wear jeans or in the summer, shorts) but every once in a while, i'll wear a tie to work, just for the sake of wearing a tie to work. RB does it from time to time as well. we'll wake up one morning and decide to dress up a bit, wear a tie, etc. we have yet to actually co-ordinate our tie wearing, which is probably a good thing, but we get a kick out of doing it once in a while. i do it more because i have ties and i figure i may as well wear them from time to time.

now i've done this in the past, and no one has ever said anything to me other than the 'oh, you're wearing a tie' or 'that's a nice tie' but for some reason, today, everyone who has commented on it (with 1 exception i believe) has made a joke about my going on a job interview (or in the case of 1 person, he asked how the job interview went). even my boss made a joke of it.

i spose i'm being overly sensitive about it, i think more because i like working here and subconciously i'm taking offense to the idea that i'd consider looking for another job while i enjoy what i'm doing here.

or maybe i'm just taking the joke to seriously (as i can be prone to do), and after being here for a year, people are actually comfortable enuff with me that they feel they can crack a joke about my wearing a tie.

that was odd

this afternoon i had an odd experience in the mens room here at work. usually, it's a relatively uneventful experience, but this afternoon while standing at the urinal attending to business (only 1 in the bathroom) i hear a guy come in. usually, most guys (myself included) when we round the corner and see someone standing at the urinal, we'll move onto one of the stalls (2 of those). well, this guy came in, rounded the corner, paused when he saw me and then muttered under his breath "asshole". he then checked the 2 stalls, decided he didn't want to use them (for whatever reason) and stood by the sink while i finished. it turned out to be this old guy who works for nextel and i just ignored him, but he had a look in his eyes that verified what i had heard. i found it most odd.

when i mentioned it to tk-8103 and CH (as they were on the way out for a smoke), CH told me i should have turned around and pissed on his shoes. not a bad idea, but i didn't think of it at the time. it gave us a good laugh. according to dannie osmond, that guy has always been a little off. he would say 'hi' to him when he passed him in the hall and the guy would just scowl at him and then out of the blue he returned the greeting, much to dannie's amazement.

oh well. be is so i suppose.

fun fun fun...

[ed: i started this thursday, but ended up dragging it out until what is now saturday morning]

actually, the last few days haven't been bad at all. i took yesterday off (comp day for working all day saturday, but i should get 2 days off for every saturday i work...hmm. something to discuss at a later date i'm sure).

it was a wonderfully lazy day. woke up at 9am, rolled out of bed, checked mail, got something to eat, watched a little tv and then spent from 10-12 reading. then i hung some stuff up, put some stuff away and worked on filling in a few cracks in. also put the screens down in my windows and had them open for much of the afternoon so it was the first decent airing of my apartment since last fall. i've been wanting to do that for ages, but it hasn't been warm enuff. i should have left my windows open a bit more today, but oh well. i can open them up when i get home for a little while which will help.

had a winbug meeting last night and came out with a ton of booty. the biggest suprise was a full version of SQL Server 2000 (5 user). when i got there, someone who works for Mickeysoft was talking with a member of the steering comittee and asked if we (the group) would be interested in some old Win2000 books that were just taking up space (spring cleaning) so we said sure, but he then asked if there was anything we (the 4 of us who said 'sure') if there was anything else so i said SQL Server, figuring it would be a book i could bring in for our DBA (we just upgraded a few servers to SQL 2000, so it would make a nice reference). turns out what i said i was interested in was the full version of SQL 2000 Server (Standard Edition). had i known, i would have asked for Exchange as that would be more useful to us at work than another copy of SQL Server, but that's ok. i took a peek at it last night and gave it to BK this morning as he or JB will find a better use for it than i will. i also learned that Microsofties internally refer to upgrading WinXP to WinXP Service Pack 2 as a "significant emotional event". hahahahaha....

oh, and he was VERY VERY quick to say that he was NOT running SP1 on his Win2003 Server laptop. the guy who asked barely had the question out of his mouth and he went "NO". we all laughed. i was wondering if i should install it on my server, but have been waiting, but given his response and how they seem to refer to applying a service pack as a "significant emotional event", i think i'm going to wait a little while.

i also managed to get several books (most of which are here at work with me now) that are part of MCSE training, so they should make a decent reference for us here. when we finally goto active directory, i expect it to be on Win2003 and not Win2000, but at least i'll have a bit of a jumpstart in figuring out how it all works.

today has been busy. building a few laptops for weekend deploy (bleh...). fortunately, i've got part of it all scripted so it moves along a little more quickly. one of these days i'll have a single script that does everything. now that will be fun...

MT lodged (yet) another complaint in SW about the wireless. so for the 2nd week in a row, RB went down with a laptop and everything tested fine. (do you hear that you bitch, IT TESTED FINE AND WORKS THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO!) i started referring to her a 'train wreck' because everything she is involved in is nothing but a train wreck (think of that 'too many cooks in the kitchen' analogy). now i'm going to start referring to her a 'the bitch who cried wolf' because that is all she ever does. altho it's a word i abosutely despise, i'm seriously considering changing it from 'bitch' to something a LOT worse. this morning when DH mentioned that she was bitching about it again (i've lost count the number of times she has and the number of times RB or I have tested it only to find it worked FLAWLESSLY) the first thing that came to mind were the words: redwood, backside, and 'WAY up'.

going home now. i'll write more once i'm there. but then you won't really care because you'll read this sequentially whereas i'm seeing it as i type it and ... ahh fuck it. i'm only going to confuse myself.

well, i just got home and couldn't help but laugh at a few things as i was on my way home. i'll start backwards. i went to get my mail and standing up in my mailbox is next weeks tvguide (which for some reason seems to get here on thursdays rather than the monday or tuesday it used to) and on the back cover is an ad for revelations (some NBC thing i think), but what was visible was the prophetic 'The End Is Here' in white letters standing out against the reds and browns of the picture. it just struck me funny.

it got me thinking about how demented i can be, and how some people would consider me to have a very sick sense of humor. i'm the type of person who would sit in the pope's funeral and start giggling about 'coming soon - New Pope!'. actually, i thought of that last week on the way home (before he died) and have gone so far as to actually put together a concept image of what it would look like. (Now with more conservative flavor!) picture a papal mitre (you know, the pope hat), coke red w/swoosh and coke font declaring 'new pope'. maybe i'll post the picture sometime. i won't rush because i knew if it got out last week, it would have prolly spread pretty quickly and i'd be the butt of catholic ire. i'll prolly be the butt of catholic ire, but at least i've given the opportunity to get the pope placed in his crypt before spawning the ire.

as i was driving home, listening to Marketplace (on NPR), they had a woman on talking about the real estate bubble, and how she secretly hopes it bursts (1 kid, baby on the way, would like another bathroom and bedroom). hell, i don't secretly hope it bursts, i'll shout it from the top of a tall building. I HOPE THE OVER-VALUED-OVER-PRICED REAL ESTATE BUBBLE BURSTS AND MAKES A HUGE FUCKING MESS!

now, there was a minor point of how the building of houses keeps jobs flowing, supplies, etc so some money flows into the economy. but you know what? i don't care about that. i spose i should, but right now i don't. and when the story was teased at the beginning of marketplace, the question was asked - what do you call someone who said the dot-com bubble was going to burst? a pesimist. what do you call someone who says the real estate bubble is going to burst? a renter.

sad but true. i'm a renter, and i and waiting for the bubble to burst. i have looked at what it would cost for me to buy a house, and for a little ranch or split level, it's EASILY well over $500k. now, i do live in an expensive area, but i really wonder what i can afford with what i currently make. it ain't much. plus, the other day M was telling me that someone she works with just bought a house out in worcester (pronounced woos-tah) because that was the closest town he could afford to buy a house in. i don't recall if M knew how big the house was, but something tells me it isn't that big of a house. anyways, i've found it rather depressing to think of how much housing costs. at least my rent is reasonable for the moment. it's definitely better than it was where i used to live. just for no reason, let's raise your rent 40%, and i'll blame it on rising oil costs. yeah, that. bitch.

now, i'd like to say 'hallo' to Clairey who left a random comment (why don't more people do that?) while blog-hopping the other day. she lives over the in the UK and recently bought a house with her boyfriend (congrats, it sounds as tho things are a little more affordable over there than they are here.). thank you Clairey.

and speaking of rising oil prices, i paid 10 cents more per gallon last night than i did last week. last week i paid $2.08 (which is too high) only to have to pay $2.19 last night.

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

i suppose i should keep in mind that comparatively, gas prices over here aren't that bad. at least we aren't paying by the litre.

hmmm...it seems as tho there are broadband connection issues in the neighborhood. my connection currently isn't working, and when i checked a neighbors, theirs wasn't working either. hmmm...comcast sucks (at this particular moment).

oh well. i guess i'll shut this down for the moment. i'm ponder some more.

well, another night has come and gone. it looks as tho my internet connection at home has sorted itself out. for some reason i could reach some sites but not others and then i wouldn't be able to reach the first sites (or any sites) and then i could reach other sites. it was very flakey. i was beginning to wonder if a backbone somewhere had collapsed or something. but it seems to be ok now.

here's a thought for the catholic church - rent-a-pope. once the college of cardinals (including the boston-area contraversial cardinal law) selects a pope (pope vader?), they need to hire some people who are willing to be rent-a-popes, so they can spread the word that much further. think about the $$$ the catholic church could bring in. it would help settle all those sex abuse scandal cases.

another thought i had on my way home last night (around the same time i listened the thing on the home market/secretly hoping the bubble burst bit) it occured to me that i'm tired of living in this post-9/11 world.

NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!

so, i've decided that i don't want to live in the post-9/11 world an instead, i'm going to try to refer to it as the post-3-4-5 world. (as in post march 4, 2005, or for you UK people, post 3rd April, 2005, either one works just fine.)

i don't care about 9/11 anymore. well, not entirely true, but i've grown so 'eh' over it these days that it has become near meaningless to me. i'm not trying to trivialize what happened on 9/11/01, but for fuck's sake.

now there is no significance to march 4th or april 3rd other than they are in the past of my current present (currently the 8th of april, 2005)

hmmm...i wonder because i'm so non-religious if i should just start referring to the year as something other than the julien (eg: church defined) calendar. i could base everything off of my birthday. so JJ would be born in the year 5BM (that's Before Molius). Jennkitty would be 2AM (After Molius). in turn, i would be born in the year 5AJj for JJ, and 2BJk for Jennkitty.

i like the logic, but that assumes i know how old everyone is in relation to me. that won't work. maybe i should use the Chinese calendar instead. i suppose there are semi-religious reasons for the year that they have (that whole emperor as a god thing/dynasty thing) but that's less offensive to me.

speaking of offensive, Bozo (the counterpart to Bozette) here at work has taken a leave of absense, which is pretty much her way of saying 'i want to take some time off and not lose my vacation' so her boss came over to DC (whom i have lunch with on a near daily basis, her and RB) and said that Bozo was taking a leave of absense and that we (DC et al) should pray for Bozo. uhhh....NO. now i have nothing against people practicing religion. if it fills something within their lives that would be considered positive, then by all means, pray to god (God?) or jehovah or budda or even satan. but the moment, and i do mean MOMENT you try and push your religion on me (eg: pray for Bozo) or a pushy jehovah's witness (foolish twonks) tries to tell me that their way is the right way, i'm going to get upset.

i'm not religious. i grew up in a protestant family, and i guess that's the best way to describe what i am - a protester. i protest against religion (rather than the pope in the case of Henry VIII). but i'm a firm believer in separatation of church and state, and would even prefer it be extended into the workplace. why should i be told (even if it is intended as a 'suggestion') to pray for someone? i'll pray for whoever i want. and i'm more likely to pray for something evil to happen to Bozo rather than her 'recovery'. (i guess she suffers from anxiety attacks, yet refuses to take her medication for the attacks. doesn't that defeat the purpose of the medication? or am i just being too practical again?)

anyways, long story short - don't push religion on me. it's not a pretty sight.

and kudos to Maynard for pulling the wool over the eyes of MTV. when i saw the 'announcement' that he had found jesus, all i could think of something he would ask us to do, quoting Dr. Leary:

Think for yourself.
Question authority.
THINK for yourself.

i will admit to thinking that it would be sad if it were true, and how we'd prolly never hear any of the new material, but at the same time i did think that it might actually prompt Tool to release the live DVD that's been rumored since the last 6 shows of the 2002 tour...but given the choice of live DVD or new CD, i'd rather have a new CD. i have a few shows from the 2001/2002 tour so i'll be ok. still, i think it's pretty funny.

well, i guess i'm going to post this now. i've been running my fingers long enuff, and the longer i wait, the longer and more tempted i'll be to edit this rather than post it as is. i've made a few edits, but nothing drastic, if anything i've added stuff to fill it out.

so, a day late (and a dollar short i suppose) i end this meaningless ramble of jumbled thoughts that i've somehow cobbled into a working mind...

huh...

watching 24 right now and the bass line they have playing in the background music reminds me of both Mission Impossible and the scene where Neo and Trinity are walking into the building to rescue Morpheus.

co-inky-dink?

did my taxes finally (federal yesterday, state today). getting a nice chunk of change back, altho when i did state this evening, i forgot to bring my checkbook to provide acct and routing information, so i'm getting a check mailed for that. of course, once i actually looked over my federal return, there in black and white was my acct and routing information. doh.

but, federal was pretty easy. goto the IRS (scary people) website for a list of sites that let you file electronically for FREE (as in beer). i chose the H&R Block option. it was mildly time consuming to enter all the fool personal data (name, addy, bday, SS#, etc), but once that was entered, it didn't take long.

state was a phone call, altho when i tried with my cellphone, it wouldn't let me past the 'am i a non-custodial parent' (no) so i ended up doing it from work. but then at work, when it asked me to speak my new street, it wouldn't take it, but it did on my cellphone. voice recognition over the phone still needs work.

saturday was a long day for me. RB and I updated 129 laptops which is a pretty time consuming process. one wasn't turned in, and R forgot to run a quick config on 1 laptop, but otherwise we both done good. the only thing i forgot to do was copy the setup files to SW, so i lost an hour while those copied over (i did wonder if it would take less time for me to drive back to the office, copy the files to my laptop and drive back, but opted against it). i put together some scripts that ran things in order. initially 4 of them, but by the afternoon, i had everything in 1 script to the actual update process took little time. it was just the setup/breakdown process that ate the most time. so i got there at 650am, and then left at 610pm. so it was a long day. at least i have wednesday off :)

sunday was a nice day. picked up groceries w/M, people watched at panera. they had a sample of tomato-basil bread (too soft, tasted fruity, not tomato basily). when men took a piece, they would reach in and grab one. when women did it, they would use the tongs that were provided. (i used tongs) only 1 man (a father) used tongs, but as a reward for giving his daughter a piece w/tongs, he took 2 pieces of bread (w/tongs) 3 women (of 10 or so) grabbed a piece w/o tongs. 1 of the women who took her piece by grabbing it did it right after her friend had used the tongs right in front of her (she watched).

M was speculating that for men it was the instant food gratification which was part of the reason why they wouldn't use the tongs. hard to find fault with that. i figure it also that cleanliness thing. it was fun and i found it more entertaining than M did. i used to enjoy sitting and watching people. i just wish i could do it more often. M asks me from time to time what i'd like to do if i didn't have to work anymore and i never know. but i think i'd like to travel around, and sit at sidewalk cafes just people watching. it doesn't have to be sidewalk cafes, but people watching in general i think. when the weather is nice, outside people watching is definately the way to go. nice drink, nice snack, laptop to type down observations. i think i'd like that.

well, i'm tired. can't really catch up until wednesday, so 1 more day of work.

including 1 woman who took her piece with tongs

whose friend took her piece with tongs (right in front of her friend)
