claims
i noticed the other day that mouth wash seems to be leading to this trend of "12 hour protection". the idea obviously is that you use it twice a day, you get 24 hour protection. not really, but that's what they want you to think.
the other night i gave it some realistic thought and came to the conclusion that it was a bogus (duh) claim. like most people, i brush my teeth twice a day. before i goto bed (~11pm) and again when i get up in the morning. somewhere between 6-8am typically.
so if i use my mouthwash at 11pm, i'm covered until 11am (according to the claims). and if i use it again in the morning (say 7am to split the difference), then i'm covered until 7pm. but if i don't brush my teeth immediately after dinner, but wait until i'm getting ready for bed (~11pm), then there is a 4 hour window where according to the 12 hour claim, i'm not protected.
not an overly profound observation, but i was amused.
