about fricking time...

i have FINALLY been able to witness a major thunderstorm. my first of the season. i think there may have been a few that passed thru during the night, but pretty much from the time i fall asleep until dawn, i'm absolutely dead to the world so if the end of the world comes while i'm asleep, i'll just pass away in the night.

but it was quite nice to actually be able to enjoy it. it started out a little slow with lotsa rain and then it let up, but then everything started getting heavier again and i was enjoying it. the only thing that would have been more enjoyable was if there was some way i could be in the middle of a field where i don't get electrocuted. but for nearly an hour, we had a nice set of rumbles, flashes, a few fire engines, and a few really good cracks. i even managed to see a few really nice lightning bolts, the nicest was in a shape of a T and Y overlayed. flashed several times, followed by corresponding cracks. it was loverly.

i did see a few other nice bolts, but that was the nicest.

now if only we'd get these more often...and it wouldn't knock out my dsl.
