normally, i don't give a rats ass about college football. i find it distasteful. i think it stems more from how there seem to be all of these different divisions, and you have colleges that play in this or that division. and then to confuse matters, colleges are part of a different division that goes 1, 2, 3. and depending on which division your school is in, determines how much (or little) recruiting the school can do for their teams. i went to a D3 school, but just north of us was a D1 school. yet neither school would ever play itself because of this whole different division thing.
anyways, fuck them all. that's not what i'm complaining about. the news showed 2 highlights (harvard/yale, BC/Maryland) and in BOTH games, someone caught an interception in the end zone, and what did they do? they RAN. and were promptly tackled just outside the end zone. had they just dropped to a knee in the end zone, their offence would have started at the 20 yard line.
instead, they start with crappy field position.
even in pro football, they do it. that whole 'glory' thing. why cripple your offense if you can get them better field position by going down? don't they drill this whole "there is no 'I' in team" thing?
