what a pain

getting ready for vacation can be a pain in the ass. this morning i put together a list of things i needed to make sure i did to be ready to go on vaca, because it always seems as tho when i go on vaca, that something goes wrong. especially when it comes to the laptops. so we'll see what happens.

anyways, this morning was frustrating because my mood is less than cheery. what doesn't help is i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve so pretty much anyone can read my face and know how i'm feeling. in that regard, i suppose i would be a really shitty poker player. but on the other side of the coin, when people can't read my expression, is usually when they don't want to know because i'm on the verge of tearing their throat out. so i suppose being able to read me is a good thing. so when i got in, CH was getting back and told me to smile. i didn't, but when he stopped by my cube a little while later, i was feeling better (that and i am trying to keep my work face on rather than my personal face) so we had a bit of a laugh.

but when i got in, i came in thru the back door (something i usually don't do) and AP spots me, but she was wise enuff to give me a little time to get settled, take my coat off, etc. (she heads up the EDU dept. and at long last, they have their own laptop and projector.) that was nice, esp as most of the clinicians i have to deal with would just start their yapping dog impression and i would have to pretend to care what they were saying. then to top that off, TK-8103 came over to ask a question about USB and keyboard (which reminds me i need to meander over) and our conversation shifted into wav files, and all the while AP waited patiently for us to finish our conversation. so AP gets 2 points. and i'll even give her another point for wanting to have me show the EDU dept. how to use their new stuff, but not next week, but the day i get back from vaca. so, at 11am on the 25th, i'll show them how to use the projector and laptop and i've got a little time to get settled. it's a good thing i'll be checking my mail from time to time.

and now i have a headache. rather two pronged one at that. one on the right side of my forehead, just above my temple, and the other on the left side of my forehead, more on my hairline. both of which are a stabbing pain.

so now i get to try and remember to do everything i need to before 6pm. and it's a pretty long list...
