my landlord is cool
prolly 2-3 weeks ago, i managed to run over a nail, and in typical fashion, of course i never noticed, but last saturday when M and i were at whole foods (dangerous place...lotsa yummy there) we noticed that my right rear tire was looking awful low.
turns out it was sitting at 9 psi. my door says it should be ~32 psi. that's a problem. so i filled it up at a gas station (handily located across from whole foods) to the appropriate ~32 psi (think i did it to 34) and made a note to check it after a few days.
well, this afternoon i checked it after noticing that it was looking a little down and sure enuff, it was 22 psi (cold) so i headed home. i was planning on taking my spare down, fill it up and fill my leaky tire to last me to the weekend. as it happened, my landlord's racing tires arrived today (didn't know what they were until i saw them) and he was looking to get them mounted.
around the time he was tossing them into the back of his pickup, i went down to pull my spare out. as i'm extracting it, he asked the story, and then offered to bring it to NTB to get it fixed for me. it looks as tho it is a nail which is causing the slow leak, so it should be an easy fix. we spotted something else that was embedded, but i don't think that is the problem.
and....it's done. took a little longer than anticipated (~90 mins) so it was dark when it returned. so $20 later, i was about to find out that i can put a tire back on my car in ~10 mins. turns out i had 2 punctures, and they pulled the tire off the rim to check things out. KO said that they then mounted the tire backwards so they had to remount it again. but it's back on my car, tire pressure is where it should be and i'll check things out in the morning.
yay for silly people. yay for my landlord.
