25 SIGNS YOU HAVE GROWN UP
- Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
- Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question.
- You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
- 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
- You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
- You watch the Weather Channel.
- Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up."
- You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
- Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
- You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
- Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
- You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
- Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
- You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.
- Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
- You take naps.
- Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
- Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach.
- You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
- A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good sh*t."
- You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
- "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to drink that much again."
- 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
- You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
- When you find out someone you know is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "Oh shit, what the hell happened?"
Bonus: - You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old ass.

according to my little therometer thing, it's a cold day in hell.
had to take the picture w/o the flash - it kept putting a nasty reflection which made it hard to read.

the things you find sometimes...
a while back (tuesday, december 5th) i posted an entry where i explained how i came to love certain bands, and how it is usually a song that clubs me over the head.
one of the bands i mentioned was Curve, and how Coast Is Clear was that club. i didn't go into it other than to say Toni's voice. anyways, the combo of her voice and Dean's bass line, is what clubbed me over the head. i'm not sure what else to say about it, but i can now tell you when i first heard the song.
it looks as though altmusictv has a lovely archive of MTV's 120 Minutes playlists. and with some quick digging, i struck GOLD!

HUZZAH!
i remember watching that episode. how's about that!
nevermind that it's a goldmine for playlists. older shows (back when i was watching) tend to be a little spotty, but it's fun to see when i watched them because i'll recognize a few videos, interview segments, etc. a nice trip down memory lane, back when i'd stay up to 2am to see what was genuinely interesting.

oh grow a set
sorry JJ and eva, but i have to say this.
the news just showed Peyton during an interview asking Colts fans not to sell their tickets to Patriots fans. (keep the dome blue)
my response is this:
OH GROW UP!
you are a professional quarterback, and one of the best playing right now (this is coming from a Patriots fan too). so yes, there will be a lot of pressure, but focus on the game. do you really believe that Colts fans are really that fair weather? i don't. and do you really think that a die-hard Colts fan is going to sell their first opportunity to see an AFC Championship game at HOME? that to me says that Peyton doesn't have faith in his fans, or worse, himself.
i expect the game to be a good game, and both teams are giving their all, and the best team will win. and i would not be suprised if it didn't come down to a field goal during the last seconds. so Peyton, don't forget that the Pats colors are Blue and Silver, so there will be some more blue in the stands regardless. and it's going to be LOUD so hush.
focus on the game and how you are going to beat our defense. i'm sure that's the same thing that Tom is focusing on.
i have lost a little of my resepect for your Peyton. you're still a good quarterback, but...

on my ride home tonight i saw something interesting. road rage at its best. fortunately, no one was hurt, but it provided some entertaining moments (for me at least).
at one point in my ride, a car was behind me and flashed their highbeams at me. i didn't think much of it as i had cars to my left, right and in front of me so there wasn't anywhere i could go, so i just ignored it. that is until i was in the left center lane, there is a car in the left lane, and he gets highbeamed by the same car. rather than ignore it, he slammed on his brakes. which got the highbeam guy to back off.
for a moment. he sped back up and so did highbeam which again flashed his highbeams and again, the guy slams on his brakes and slows the entire lane down to much less than it was. i had to laugh, but i was glad no one got into an accident.
then when i was at the supermarket, one of the kids who packs the bags correctly identified the eyeball on my shirt as The Residents. he thought they were pretty cool, but had never heard anything by them.
at least there is some recognition, even if people have no idea what it is they have an idea of.
